Just a little error in the Library:
It seems when you are editing an article and press refresh while it is loading, the article gets dublicated.
It happened to me with Katnappe 
The Chii article exists twice as well, but the Chi link isn't working.
(It's a different error than the one with the Katnappe article, because the links are different)
I hope I could help to remove some mistakes

I've manually fixed the duplicate katnappe entry. Can't decide yet how to fix the refresh problem tho. But thanks for letting me know what caused it - that should save a lot of searching!
The other Chi entry is a redirect for the alternate spelling (to ensure a search always comes up with the article)- but I hadn't noticed the error in the link, cheers for that too (fixed now).

Argh blast!
With some research I believe I've figured out how the error could give such an obtuse number... which has narrowed down the culprits. But it's still a bit of a mystery - so I've added some code that should flag up exactly what is causing it should it happen again.
It should be self explanatory should the message appear - plz copy and display here, ta.
In the meantime I've manually reset your unread PM number (so far it hasn't happened to anyone else again yet, but I'm sure it will at some point!).

I shall manually reset the number of PMs for you so it works again:
Can you remember what you did just before the number went so large?
(It's happened to other users before, but I haven't been able to ascertain why!)

I've manually fixed the numbers for the two of you.
Have found a possible reason why it was occurring (and have fixed it) - but I'm not convinced that's all that is doing it... I suspect some other code has gone awry.
Let me know if/when it happens again!

This possibly one of the hardest errors I've ever had to debug - and I suspect it's because the root of the problem isn't the usual goof in my own coding, but something from the original program.
I've changed the error messaging again, to see if I can get more specific information 'bout the error (I think there is a silent error elsewhere that causes the big error later on).
But the last set of error messages seems to indicate that the process that is causing the old 65335 is where a value of 1 is being subtracted from 0
It's just that that 0 shouldn't be there, and I've yet to determine why it is.
Since the database field can't handle negative values (nor should they exist for numbers of unread messages) it spits out the "error number" 65335.
But each session of error responses that come up give more information about the nature of what's going on. So fingers crossed we'll be able to get to the bottom of this soon!

I wouldn't really say that was an error - but I'll try to answer your question anyway:
It's essential to delete old threads - because space in the database isn't infinite! Eventually the response time (and hence page load time) would slow down, and the company that owns the servers that the site is hosted on would start charging us loads more!
As regards decrease in post count - it may be possible to change the site programming to make it so that only users deleting their own posts would decrease the post count - but that is probably not a simple task. It IS on my to-do list - but unfortunately my to-do list is very loooooong!

Oh crikey - and the other pretest coding didn't even turn up? That really scuppers things.
Is there no pattern emerging yet? Does it occur when you are trying to do a specific thing (even if it isn't every time you do that thing)?
Information is key in debugging - though the error messages help, if there's anything else that can be determined, it will help move things along.

and I know what happend this time, you set it to Zero and I had 4 unread messages so when I tried to check it 0 - 1 = (-)1.
edit 1, make that five unread.

Blimey - you're right!
That means several things -
The appearance of additional new pms was what was "cushioning" the number from immediately going down to -1, but was only postponing the inevitable.
The original error may (fingers crossed) have actually been fixed a while ago, and that mistake in resetting it was what was allowing the effect to continue. I've nasty feeling that that is not the case - but we'll see.
Unread messages now reset to 5 for you

I am kinda... this is getting my furr fuzzled up...
Avatar size limit is 100x100 but... Habilon has one that is 120x150 and its making me jealous

It's because his avatar is hotlinked from another site - at the moment we don't have a way to restrict the size of hotlinked avatars, so I've just been taking the policy to manually unlink them if they're big enough to mess up the page display.

Argh, I suspected as much. Rather than carry on that crazy game with adding error messages, I've added a "mark all as read" link below the "new message" button. This will have the same effect as manually resetting the number (without the problems of not accounting for actual unread messages still present, like I did), but users can use it to do that themselves without having to wait for me every time.
This will hopefully only be a temporary solution, but it's clear that the pm system is going to need a much larger overhaul before I can truly get to the root of the problem.

Theorhetically, it shouldn't be possible for that to happen. But I'll keep an eye out for all possibilities when I rework the code.
